At the heart of Island 619 is Executive Chef Rakesh Kumar, a seasoned culinary leader with close to two decades of experience across Fiji's most iconic resorts. Since beginning his journey as a trainee chef in 2005, Chef Rakesh has built a career defined by passion, precision, and pride in local ingredients.
Now leading the culinary operations for both Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and Sheraton Denarau Villas, he guides a team of over 150 professionals to create unforgettable dining experiences rooted in culture and connection.
Chef Rakesh is a proud ambassador of Fiji's food scene, combining global techniques with fresh, local produce — much of it sourced from the resort's own Sheraton Farm.
